Our competition proposal Trepijooks is a manifesto for movement. The proposal reimagines a former Soviet era industrial building as the flagship headquarters of a forward-thinking sports brand. The generous loft-style floors naturally lend themselves to contemporary office use, with potential for high-quality residences on the upper levels. At the top of the building, a rooftop terrace serves as a destination for events, outdoor workouts, or a rooftop bar — connecting sport with social life and urban experiences.
The concept turns the existing façade into an active statement — a vertical arena for movement, health and play. Four outdoor staircases of varying steepness, designed for stair sprint training, climb the building. The routes are color-coded by their difficulty levels whie simultaneously echoing the Olympic rings. A digital timer tracks performance, encouraging users to return, compete, and improve.
The stair and balcony structure also shades the fully glazed façade, cutting heat gain and reducing the building’s cooling demand. Controlled access ensures safety and flexibility. For residents, the stairs offer a direct path to the shared rooftop amenities. For office users, they bring fresh air, movement, and a visual connection to the sports brand’s ethos, right outside the workspace.
Trepijooks aims to be more than a renovation project. It is a bold expression of what the building stands for: energy, performance and joy in motion.
